Size Guides

We've pulled together a couple of approximate guides to contemplate when choosing your scooter.

As a general rule of thumb scooter bars should sit around hip to waist height when standing on the deck. If bars are too far above the waist then the rider will have more difficulty in controlling the scooter and risk hitting their face on the cross bar. If the bars are too low then it could be uncomfortable to ride. The range is all up to personal preference of riding style. Those who like to do a lot of whips and park tricks tend to prefer lower heights. While in contrast the more street style riders prefer higher bars for comfort. The chart in the back of this catalogue gives the bar height measurements from the deck and also from the ground to help when choosing the right scooter.

The other main factor in sizing a scooter is the deck size. The size will determine a lot of things for riding. The bigger the deck the more comfortable it will be for larger riders. The smaller the deck, the easier tricks will be and overall the scooter will be lighter.

If you measure your child, you will see most of our scooters have detail on height from ground to top of t-bar. Then you can assess the best scooter. Note, many of our scooters have adjustable handlebars

We highly recommend measurement prior to purchase. Using a soft tape measure, please measure the circumference of the child’s/ your head about an inch above the eyebrows, or the thickest part of the head.

If it falls within the centimetre range shown, the helmet will fit.

Note, we do not accept helmet returns

Knees

To measure your knees measure two points about 10cm (4 inches) above your kneecap and around the widest part of your calf.

Note, Globber toddler and kids knee pads do not have different measurements for above and below the knee, due to lack of muscle development at the young age.

You can check your child’s current shoes to see the matching EU size.

If not, trace your foot on a piece of paper against a wall, measure the distance from your heel to your longest toe in centimeters, and use that length on the specific size chart for the exact skate model you want to buy
